it's friday

Today was a wet, chilly day filled with both bright spots and disappointments. This morning, my children happily entertained each other outside, in their pajamas, on the trampoline. I was able to happily waste time on the computer. They did come in at ten to get dressed and get to their regular daily tasks. Emma just blazed through her schoolwork. No complaints. The boys joined in for science and art. It was a lovely morning.

This afternoon, I had planned to go to Gardner Village in Salt Lake to meet up with some other photographers. The weather had turned colder and windier. I debated whether or not to go but decided to keep my plans. I changed all the kids clothes, washed faces, combed hair, loaded them all up and drove up to Salt Lake. When we got there, we walked around for a little while to see if we could find our group. The kids were immediately complaining of the cold and then it started to rain. I was not finding any other photographers but I sure was seeing a lot of fun places to take photos. I decided to forget trying to take pictures of the kids who were likely to be very uncooperative and we headed of to Keri's house instead. While I love being lazy at Keri's, I was quite disappointed that the photographer get-together did not work out. Hopefully another time.

Tonight, I headed out to run errands all by myself. Love that. First stop Deseret Book to get Dave's birthday present from my mom. I am only a few weeks late in getting that done. Then Home Depot to get some landscape fabric for Dave. Then to Target to buy Sawyer's birthday presents and wander the aisles. While I was there I also picked up stuff to do a conference package for my visiting teachees.

Both soccer games have been cancelled for tomorrow (for the second week) so we don't have to brave the cold in the morning. We will enjoy General Conference instead. Then its time to celebrate Sawyer's birthday!

What a cute idea to do that for your visiting teachees. You are so creative.

That is a good idea, too bad I got it so late although I probably wouldn't have followed through anyway. I took a look at the blog where you got the conference kit idea. I can't imagine having 40 comments per daily blog entry. Some people must be looking for something to do!

That's too bad that you didn't find your photography group, did you ever find out what happened?

Your conference kits look cute, I'm sure your ladies are glad you made them!

--What is up with that last comment about people looking for something to do? Rude.

Sorry Jill. Don't take it personally.

Mom, Jill gets 40 comments (and more) on each entry because she is a fabulous blogger and person. She writes daily and is thoughtful, generous and fun. She is a blessed woman with lots of friends who come read her blog and leave comments.

We had two soccer games Saturday, and they were both FRIGID! Be very very happy yours were canceled! One of my boys was getting hailed on during his game (although he thought it was fun, and collected the hailstones in his hand, lol).

I wish I were more on top of cute stuff like the conference packages; my teachees deserve better than they get from me. Such a good idea!
