I had a date with Harry

Where have I been, you ask? Reading books I just could not put down. First there was Twilight. While I did really enjoy the book, I don't think I have the same enthusiasm for it as all those who recommended it to me.

Monday morning, coming home from the gym, I checked the mailbox for the mail we never got on Saturday. Guess what had been sitting there all weekend? HARRY POTTER. I resisted the urge to start it all morning. I was able to go run a few errands in the early afternoon, one of which was going to the library to pick up New Moon.

Two books I really wanted to read. How to choose? I chose to be loyal to Harry. All afternoon. All night. Man, its hard being a mom (particularly a nice mom) when you just want to read your book. I finished at 2:18 a.m. So forgive me for the lack of attention I'm giving my blog. Its just that now I have a date with Edward.

Wasn't Harry great?!! I couldn't bear to read in small doses, so I did the same thing--it took 9.5 hours, but I can now read all the reviews and not have it spoiled for me. Fantastic!!

Now I'll try to finish Les Miserables. It's a bit daunting to me, but good!

So I'm about halfway through Twilight--I'm feeling the same way you did--good book but what's all the hype? Maybe a bit like Keri and Wicked--too much expectation. Still worth reading.

Harry and I had a quality relationship going on all weekend. I, too, read into the wee hours, and finished it after church the next day. I'm dying to talk about it but don't want to spoil anyone.

Even Edward can't hold a candle to Harry!

At least dates with those other men don't require babysitters! I finished Harry last night and I loved it. I really enjoyed the whole "worth of [all] souls" theme going on, and learning from the past and past people.

Lindsay I'm trying to join you on the reading train. I finished Harry in one day too, but I didn't have to play "mom" so it was a bit easier I think. I did have to play "FHE and going away party" host in the evening though.

I also rejoined your book club out here. They read The Kite Runner. I really liked it. I'll have to try Twilight and New Moon next.

Thanks for all the inspirational things you do.
