five for friday

1. We made it through September which I believe was our busiest month ever. With violin lessons, music theater class, soccer practices and games for three kids, football games, bookclubs, co-ops, homeschooling, and an emergency trip to CO, all with Dave spending M-F in Boise. Welcome, October!

2. I did not get up early to exercise today. I told Dave that I was going to do it later with the kids. I meant to do that but I never did. I am struggling with the whole eating well and exercising thing. And my body is a clear indicator of that. If you ever wonder what I don't do well, healthy living is it. I have an ongoing internal conversation about getting back into gear. I sit down somewhere and feel that ridiculous belly bulge and scream at myself to do something about it. But doing something about it requires diligence, consistency and early morning wake-up times and I am bad at all three.

3. Emma and I made a paper mache pharaoh/mummy mask today for our ancient Egypt studies. Messy stuff. We are hosting our history and science group next Wednesday. I am actually trying to be on top of things this time.

4. Tonight, I dropped Slade off at his cousin's birthday party in Orem. Then I spent a happy two hours by myself. First, I went to the library which is always a happy place for me. Then I was off to Michael's in search of plaster infused gauze. I found it plus a few other things I didn't even know I needed. To finish off those two blissful hours, I treated myself to a fresh peach milkshake from Taco Amigo. It was way overpriced but oh so tasty.

5. Unfortunately, the Cougars lost tonight again. Fortunately this weekend is General Conference!

How can a woman who homeschools her children, makes mummy masks and hosts the history and science group not be good at "diligence, consistency"? You ARE good at those things. Work out late at night instead. There, i solved all your problems.

Belly Bulges are EVIL! Don't listen to them. They rarely tell the truth and they always make you forget how gorgeous your eyes are, how luscious your heavenly locks of hair are, how much your husband adores the sacrifices you have made to bring his spiritual family into his earthly home. Oh, and I forgot your silky white skin. I'm sure the belly bulge didn't speak of that either! Red lips. Okay. I have to stop or I'll have a crush on you!

Taco Amigo totally got me with their fresh peach shake, too. When they told me the price I almost cancelled my order. But I didn't, and it was delicious!
