butterflies, hatched and released

The butterflies hatched a couple of days ago and have been feeding on sugar water. Today we decided to let them fly to freedom....

10 caterpillars became 9 chrysalides which became 8 butterflies. A great adventure in science.

This is what is great about homeschooling. My 3rd grader is doing butterflies at school right now, and I'm missing out on all the fun!

I'm not sure how I've missed your blog when I see that we run in the same circles(ish) of this blogland. But what a treat it was to discover. Your pictures are gorgeous. And you seem equally delightful! Thanks for stopping by my blog so I could have this intro.

Great pictures! I should have you take mine for my blog profile. Between Miriam and I, we could only do so well.

Miriam wants to buy this caterpillar/butterfly thing and try it, too. She also wants tadpoles.

I'm going to take you up on family/baby pictures later this summer!
