The first snow of the season came last week. Dave came in to warn me about 6 in the morning on his way to the airport. I was not excited but of course the kids were. With the exception of Slade, they all worked really hard to get their work done so they could go out and play.
Slade on the other hand was ranting about how unfair it was that he couldn't go out. He was a few days behind on his schoolwork because he had been completely refusing to do any of it. He would not make the connection of his choices to the consequence though. Instead he just told me how mean I was. After a rough start, he did make better choices this week. He managed to get caught up on everything by Wednesday and actually did all his work without complaint on Thursday. Perhaps, he can be taught after all!

You're having snow and we're finally "cooled down" to 90 degrees! :)
Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever see snow again. And that thought makes me very very happy. Until I saw that first photo. Beautiful. Now I'm longing for a little snow. But just a little.
Patience, Slade's mom, just patience.
