Around here we are going to lots of soccer games. Emma is playing competition soccer this year (meaning they keep score). They've lost most of their games but it has been exciting to see Emma's progress. She is totally loving it. Nathan loves the idea of soccer. He wants to wear his uniform (either this year or last year's) all the time. At the games though he is less excited about actually playing. Dave is still the best coach.
Around here football season is in full swing. sometimes, we do begrudge the time drain that football is but it hasn't stopped us yet. I went to the huge disappointment that was the first home game. Emma went last Saturday.

Around here Slade is sitting down to play the piano all the time. I'm using a learn-at-home DVD from Simply Music as the basic method and supplementing with other stuff. I'm trying to keep it rather low key. He is constantly at the piano not only playing the songs the way he learned them but also improvising. Emma plays too but not nearly as often as Slade. I think it is neat to see them improvising and composing their own songs.
Around here I am so happy its fall. There have been a few days with a chill in the air. Perfect for flying kites on a Monday night (though this evening was a little too chilly). I'm looking forward to jackets, soup, pumpkins, and holidays.

Around here I am struggling. With housework. With my diet and exercise routine. With keeping my patience. With feeling overwhelmed. I really try to keep everything in perspective and choose happiness over grumpiness but I'm not always successful.
Around here we do a lot of things divided by gender. This weekend, Dave took the boys camping for the ward Father and Sons campout. They came home very smelly but full of smiles. Emma, Anne and I did the girly thing and went shopping for jeans and skirts.
Around here Sawyer is almost three. Almost potty trained. Learning at warp speed. Wanting to be involved in everything.
Around here I feel really grateful that we belong to such a great homeschool co-op. We just started Story of the World volume 4 which covers 1850-present. Last week we learned about Florence Nightingale. The kids did a relay race complete with hand washing stations and wounded soldiers to attend.
Around here we are glad to be near BYU for fieldtrips and cultural events. Last week, I took the kids to the Museum of Peoples and Cultures on Thursday. Dave and I went to World of Dance on Friday and then back to the football game on Saturday.

Around here some blog posts are filled with snapshots and a jumble of random thoughts.

I love the snapshots and jumble of random thoughts. Keep both coming!
I'm glad I'm not the only Mom that struggles to "keep up" with the house, kids, sleep, and patience. Did I mention sleep? LOL. You are an amazing Mom with everything you do to teach your kids. Another year or two and all of them will be older to where you don't have to referee so much of the housework. You are a great Mom.
Lots of fun going on in your life. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one struggling, although I think I struggle with attitude most of all. Funny how our goal seems to be not to struggle, when that's probably the point of the whole thing anyway. I'm so happy I get to read your blog! Even if we only see each other once every 3 years...
Oh, Lindsay, you do so much more than most moms would even dream of doing. You are an inspiration to me. And, it's nice to know that it's not always a walk in the park - jeesh!
Glad to hear that Slade is enjoying piano so much - I needed that tip and will check it out soon.
As much as I enjoy seeing your wonderful pictures, well composed, perfectly focused and edited, it was gratifying to see some just "normal" Daniel pictures. Thanks for that! Just this once. Cause around here I need you as inspiration. And not just for picture taking :-)
I'm so so glad I'm not the only one who gets overwhelmed and admits it.....you are awesome! I love all the pictures.
I love seeing all the updates and pictures.
I love it. I love all of the thoughts and the reality that we all feel! I am jealous that you are near BYU. We miss it, ALOT! Say hi to Dave!
