I took my kids to a homeschool Halloween party and hosted another one for Activity Days.

I bought costumes for the boys and too much candy.
Emma decided to wear my Little Red costume that my mom made for Into the Woods my senior year.I sent them out trick-or-treating with their dad.
I gave out candy at our house instead of hiding in the back with the lights off. In fact, I even enjoyed the evening because I stood across the street and talked with my neighbor. I left our candy bowl on the porch and just hollered across the street to the trick-or-treaters to take one. I was so glad it was such a warm night.I still really don't like Halloween though! I am happy to move into November and the rest of the holiday season.
Today we woke up to snow and a new president-elect. Two reasons to be sad! My kids are happy though. Emma rushed through her schoolwork and chores so she could go outside early. The boys all joined her and they made snowmen in the backyard. Emma and Slade then shoveled the driveway for me. I think they are crazy for wanting to be outside but it sure makes for a nice quiet house.

you guys had a lot more snow than we did here in provo. we should have changed houses for the day. the kids look so cute!!
Snow???? We finally dropped below 90 degrees here today!
That bread is really cute. Please send me the recipe!
Are you in charge of Activity Days? We'll have to swap some ideas. I just got called in Sept.
I can't believe you had snow either - though I remember that we always had our first storm on Halloween. We were a balmy 60d today...it was awesome.
I love Halloween. Thanks for handing out candy and not hiding.
Look at it as one more colorful photo op - you do like those!
I love that bike in the snow picture. So true for this time of year. I was bummed about the snow as well. I can be a fun mom three seasons out of the year, but winter does me in.
Good for you for plugging on with Halloween. It is a totally useless holiday and yet a kids dream day. Embracing it is all I can do- fake my way through the day and usually I come out unscathed :)
i can't believe that power rangers are still around. i loved them when i was slade's age. oh wait.. does that make me old? ew...
ah come on. Halloween rocks! I wish it was all year long. Although I refuse to give candy to big kids and would end up getting toilet papered all year long. But heh, then I'd never need to by t.p.
Yeah for halloween!
Great photos! I can't believe all that SNOW! Incredible! ANd that mummy bread turned out so cute! I actually enjoy Halloween, but found myself getting annoyed with trick-or-treaters (the too old to be out there ones that grab handfuls of candy and run). I ended up across the street visiting in front of a campfire my neighbor built in their front yard, bowl on front steps. It made the evening a lot nicer!
